STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY
DO YOU NEED HIGH QUALITY STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY FOR SOCIAL MEDIA, WEB DESIGN OR PRINT?
LET CHIP FORELLI PROVIDE YOU WITH ELEGANT APPEALING IMAGERY.

"Still life photography is to me the most creative form of photography because one starts with a blank canvas - we are able to sculpt a photograph from scratch with compositional elements and lighting. With the help of a unique approach to lighting I've developed, ordinary subjects are transformed and elevated in appeal, holding the viewers interest and recording an indelible image in the viewer's mind.

Alternately, should my clients prefer, I would implement a more documentary approach in photographing products and objects, optimizing with precise control of lighting and composition the subject's most important identifying features in a clear, straightforward and memorable way."

Transforming the mundane into the sublime is something clients have often told me I am guilty of when it comes to doing still life photography.
After many years of enjoying and experimenting with innovative lighting techniques in this realm of photography, I'm convinced that any object has characteristics that can be worked with (no, more lke played with) and made to be intriguing - even compelling.

Subjects that are part of a series and photographed close up in an abstracted way create an opportunity for the viewer to explore the landscape of each subject. Wondering where you are (or what it is) is engaging and entertaining. To me this quality in a photograph increases the value of the viewer's experience tremendously.

The shuffleboard and baby crib photographs were part of a series on the importance of vitamins for seniors and babies - the photographs showing the results of taking vitamins in a humorous way. The shuffleboard court was shot outside on a sunny day where I used the burnt path of the unseen disc
and broken disc to clearly communicate the ad's message. The escaped baby photo was shot in the studio. I used soft, gentle lighting which contrasted with the unexpected event depicted in the ad. I had the model maker I work with create the bent rails on the crib and burnt path on the shuffleboard court
and then on site, use lighter fluid to create the flame. My model maker is the consumate problem solver and easy to work with which makes for smoothly orchestrated photo shoots.

Because of the interesting shapes, colors and textures of pharmaceutical products, it's especially appropriate to use powerful photographic tools including strong perspective, shallow depth of field, dramatic sidelight, color gels and motion in order to produce exciting visuals -absolutely essential in this extremely competitive industry.
